I was initially overwhelmed by everything the SmartEdu University Student Development Program threw at me, but there were so many individuals who were genuinely interested in helping me and it fostered a strong learning environment. I felt empowered to step out of my comfort zone. I pin our successes as a team on our ability to recognize each other’s strengths as well as weaknesses and adjust accordingly. Though many of the participants were new to me, they seemed to know me better than myself at times. There’s a beauty in such interdependence − we found solace in the understanding that we aren’t alone, and help is available should we be brave enough to seek it. The Program wasn’t about the final pitch on stage; it was about the 13 days it took us to get there. I can’t be thankful enough for everyone who was present on this journey with me and I’m looking forward to the great things we will achieve together.
